Laura Owens


Laura Owens has been teaching Hatha yoga internationally for 4 years, from the deck of a Caribbean catamaran to a secret garden in Andalucia. She began her love affair with the practice in 2012, when yoga helped her cope with a breast cancer diagnosis, age 31, which left her with life-changing scars (inside and out).

Inspired by heart-centred teachers such as Rachel Brathen and Meghan Currie, she has also studied with the wonderful Tomas Tealdi and Javier Castro.

In 2015, after cancer treatment left her with intense anxiety depression, Laura packed a tent and moved to the Sivananda Ashram Bahamas, spending 4 months on Paradise Island, immersed in a magical yogic lifestyle, learning first hand the power of philosophy, chanting, meditation and healing energy .

She graduated from a 200hr TT and gained a further 200hr TT in 2017 at YogaShala Institute, with a focus on biomechanics, and has since gone on to further studies in Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Yoga for Children.

Laura continues to study through books and courses every aspect of physical and emotional healing, wellbeing and personal growth.

Laura’s mission is to share the tools she has learned to overcome trauma and how to live lightly despite it all.

Classes - What to expect

My classes are inclusive and calming, with a playful balance of physical and spiritual Hatha yoga. I love creating playlists which encourage deeper immersion and connection. Classes are suitable for beginners, with options for more advanced students, ending with a relaxing guided meditation and reading.
